Eruptions Newsletter Update

Things are changing!

Hello!

So, you may have noticed that it has been a while since the last newsletter. I don’t have a lot good excuses beyond some writing ennui and some thinking about exactly what I want to do in the realm of science writing.

After these two months of contemplation, here is where I stand:

  1. I have been working on a book proposal. I’m very excited about it and hopefully I can offer more information about it in the coming months.

  2. I am discontinuing the newsletter. I never could get the swing of the regularly scheduled newsletter format, both in terms of time and style. It was fun to try, but I think it is best to retire it … but for a good reason!

  3. The reason? I am restarting Eruptions as a true blog. You can find it here (or https://www.eruptions.site/). It will be much more like I started — writing about volcanic activity, culture and research. You can see a long description on the new site.

  4. The new (reimagined) blog is also a newsletter — you can subscribe to get posts sent directly to your inbox if you want. If you do want to subscribe to the email for Eruptions, visit the new site and go to the very bottom. There you will see a place to enter your email and subscribe.

  5. You can also find news of new posts on social media. I am on Bluesky, but with a new handle: @eruptions.site. That is the genuine article!

So there you have it. Thanks for taking part in this experiment. Come and join me on the new site!
